In response to the brutal death of George Floyd, rapper Killer Mike spoke his truth on 30 May 2020, about systemic racism in the US and the impact of police brutality on his country. His voice was heard by millions of people all over the world and gained the respect of many black rioters and protesters who were burning their houses and public facilities to the ground.
Killer Mike called for justice for the perpetrators of George Floyd’s death and justice for the many other black people who have been violently attacked at the hands of US law enforcement. As the son of a police officer himself, Killer Mike’s message resonated amongst Americans and calm finally returned to the streets of Atlanta. He now continues to speak his truth, motivating the black community to vote, to make change and be heard.
