Redwoods Canopy, Forest
Its easy to understand why Kyle was so drawn to capturing the impressive trees of a Redwood forest. Californian redwoods are characterised by their extreme height (reaching up to 115 metres tall) and their impressive horizontal branches. The bark is bright red-brown colour, and as the name suggests, they are indigenous to the west-coast of California and the south-western corner of Oregon in the US. The allure of the thick, green canopy and dense positioning of the trees gives this photograph its striking appeal.
